Fast Forward is a new program offered by ATOMVic that is supported by DET through the Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series (VCES).

Over the next two years (2020 – 2022) Fast Forward will offer a series of events designed to support our ATOM community to: 

  • Give students additional media activities 
  • Create opportunities to extend their thinking 
  • Encourage and inspire students in future media industry careers!

On Friday February 19th, ATOMVic hosted two panel discussions and live QandA events with Melbourne Women in Film Festival (MWFF) and the filmmakers of two short films that were selected for the 2021 MWFF short film program.

Podcasting Seminar with SYN

On Friday November 13th, ATOMVic hosted a panel discussion on Podcasting with the wonderful Hayley Foster and Rebecca Maakasa from SYN Media.

Hayley (27) is the Acting Media Learning Coordinator, producing ‘Schools On Air’. Previously, Hayley worked and volunteered at SYN for over 2 years as a producer, radio host, talks manager and educational trainer. She has over 4 years experience in audio production, holding a Bachelor degree in Performing Arts and Theatre and a post graduate diploma in Audio Engineering and Sound Production. In 2018 she was part of The Push Music Industry Pathways Program.

Rebecca (23) is an Educational Trainer and Producer at SYN Media, training high-school students and community groups in radio broadcast and podcast production. She has lectured casually at Victoria University since 2019 in radio production and cross-media practice. She is the founder of @Melb2Beirut, documenting perspectives and imagery in support of Lebanon’s diaspora and co-creator of ‘Culture Cult’, a podcast that highlights the Middle East and Europeans’ valuable contributions to culture. In 2020, Rebecca was a speaker and mentor at ‘Digi Engage’.

On Monday September 14, ATOM hosted two online sessions with Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore, the Director of Her Sound, Her Story.
